Robbie Williams took the stage at BST Hyde Park on July 6, joined by Danny Dyer for a performance of Blur’s “Parklife.” Williams heralded the unlikely duo as “the double act you didn’t know you needed in your life!” Dyer handled the spoken-word parts as Williams sang the lead and the Coldstream Guards provided backing. The actors didn’t just team up for the performance, they also appeared together in Williams’ opening sequence, which was inspired by military preparations. Supergrass’ Gaz Coombes also joined Williams on stage, performing the band’s hit “Alright.”
The Hyde Park residency features a range of performers, including Kate Nash, Seal, Black Grape, Stevie Nicks, Kylie Minogue, and Stray Kids. Williams recently hinted that he has written “loads of songs” for a new album and is “full of purpose and loving life.” The dance side project Lufthaus, which Williams formed with Flynn Francis and Tim Metcalfe, will make their UK live debut at Creamfields 2024
