UK band The Go! Team have announced a tour to mark the 20th anniversary of their debut album, Thunder, Lightning, Strike. The band will perform in Edinburgh, Manchester, Bristol and Dublin, before heading to the US for shows in Chicago, Boston, New York, Philadelphia and Washington, DC. The tour coincides with a reissue of the original album, which will feature a selection of remixes by different artists, one of which will be released every month until the end of 2024.
The reissued debut album will be released on September 13 via Memphis Industries and contains a CDR version of ‘The Power is On’, which has been shared by the band in advance alongside a Cornershop remix of ‘Everyone’s a V.I.P. to Someone’. Fans can also purchase a Rough Trade exclusive pressing of 500 clear vinyl copies, featuring red and yellow splatter.
Thunder, Lightning, Strike was first released in 2004 and earned a nomination for the Mercury Music Prize the following year. The album, which is noted for its raw production and experimental style, included popular tracks ‘Ladyflash’, ‘Bottle Rocket’ and ‘Huddle Formation’, which have been featured in TV advertisements.
