A second individual has been accused of the killing of a man in Wiltshire, England. Raymond Groves perished at a location in Easterton near Devizes last Tuesday. On Saturday, Helen Shakespeare, his ex-partner, appeared before Swindon Magistrates’ Court charged with his murder. Anthony Hodges-Hillier of Royal Wootton Bassett, a close associate of Shakespeare, has also been charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder and is due to appear in court on Monday.
Letishia Goodwin, from Strawberry Fields, Easterton, has also been charged with conspiracy to commit murder. Shakespeare confirmed her name and date of birth during the short hearing.
Prosecuting, Kate Prince told the court that Shakespeare had allegedly killed her ex-partner at her residence resulting in his death. Amanda Lee, the presiding justice, transferred the case to Winchester Crown Court. Shakespeare is expected to be present in court on 9 July.
Mr Groves’ identity has not been officially verified yet but he is believed to be a resident of Hartcliffe in Bristol. Police were called to an address in Easterton after 8 pm BST on 2 July after receiving reports of a man being stabbed to death. The police have arrested a man in his 30s under suspicion of murder in relation to the incident. A woman in her 20s has been arrested on suspicion of committing perjury. However, she has since been arrested again on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder.
Wiltshire Police have announced that their investigations into the incident remain ongoing. The police have kept all of the involved parties in custody while they conduct their investigations.
