Lifestyles Peter Lloyd, a community center that had been shut due to essential repairs, will reopen its doors next week following a £2.2million refurbishment. Existing and potential members are invited to take a look at some of the revamped areas and meet the team on Monday and Tuesday. From Wednesday, members will have access to the ‘dry side’ facilities, which include a new gym area, state-of-the-art spin studio, new group training room, refurbished sports hall, revamped welcome area, new hubs to assist members, and renovated changing and toilet areas. Additionally, there will be new interior and exterior signage across the site and improved car parking spaces.
Phase two of the reopening is scheduled to happen in the coming weeks, which will see the swimming pool come back in use, along with an accessible Changing Places toilet, a new, larger family changing room, a brand-new steam room, and a total redecoration of the pool-side area. To celebrate the reopening, there are a number of offers for new and existing members to make the most of over the summer as they get to know the venue’s “new look”. Comprehensive information on these offers can be found on the official Peter Lloyd pages on the City Council’s website.
The Tuebrook venue initially closed during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, and though the essential repairs, including fully replacing the roof and addressing the extensive water damage that had occurred inside the venue, had been completed, it remained shut. Councillor Harry Doyle, Liverpool City Council’s Cabinet Member for Health, Wellbeing and Culture, expressed his pleasure in being able to finally reopen the venue, “with some brand-new facilities and areas which are much more accessible for users”.
As the pool is not yet fully operational, the decision has been taken to open the ‘dry side’ of the center first so customers can try out the new gym and participate in classes, and the pool will be reopened in a few more weeks when it is in full working order. The Lifestyles luxury health centers offer comprehensive health facilities and provide an opportunity for individuals to join classes, swimming, and gym activities all under one roof
