‘Elden Ring’ update: here’s everything the new patch includes

FromSoftware has released the 1.12.3 update for Elden Ring, which introduces some major changes to the game. Following the release of the Shadow Of The Erdtree expansion, the update aims to enhance player experience, including nerfing the Bloodfiend’s Arm and fixing a bug that caused double damage with lightning perfume bottle and frenzyflame perfume bottle weapons during boss fights.

Two of the most frustrating Shadow Of The Erdtree bosses, Commander Gaius and the Golden Hippopotamus, have been re-positioned to give players a better chance of beating them the second time around. The patch also increases the intelligence scaling of the carian sorcery sword but decreases the base damage, and extends the throwing ranges for both the smitchscript dagger and cirque.

The update comes with a number of bug fixes for the game, but many players have expressed frustration that there’s still no solution for certain performance issues. The 1.12.3 patch notes suggest that third-party applications that control mouse behaviour may be responsible for unstable framerate on PC, while the “Rebuild Database” option from the device’s safe mode may improve the same issue for PS5 users.

Earlier this month, George R.R. Martin teased the possibility of Elden Ring being adapted into a feature film or television series. Nintendo boss Shuntaro Furukawa has also confirmed that the company won’t be using generative artificial intelligence for game development.
