Piers Morgan and Roger Waters clashed over Israel, Palestine, and anti-Semitism in a recent episode of Morgan’s show, Piers Morgan Uncensored. While Waters has been an outspoken advocate for Palestine, he has also been accused of anti-Semitism. He has denied these allegations, stating that he takes issue with the state of Israel, not Judaism as a whole. 

Waters has previously criticized Israel, accusing the country of “abusing the term anti-Semitism to intimidate people like me into silence.” He has also speculated that the attacks perpetrated by Hamas on October 7 could have been a “false flag operation.” Despite these claims, Waters has been the subject of a documentary, The Dark Side Of Roger Waters, which was produced by the Campaign Against Anti-Semitism.

Morgan and Waters went head-to-head during their interview, with Morgan accusing Waters of spreading misinformation. He read a tweet from Polly Gilmour, wife of Waters’ ex-bandmate David Gilmour, stating that Waters was “anti-Semitic to his rotten core.” Waters responded to this by saying, “No comment. Oh, shut up… They’re public, and I’m private.”

Despite the controversy surrounding him, Waters has received support from Eric Clapton, who has praised Waters for his outspokenness. “I love Roger. I love him. We are brothers and he goes his way about it, and it takes a lot of guts, and he suffers from it terribly,” Clapton said in May
