Following an updated investigation by Resident Advisor’s Anu Shukla and Annabel Ross, four more women have accused Kamaal Williams of sexual assault. The new details were published yesterday, just weeks after the previous investigation released in May recounting allegations of sexual assault by three anonymous women. The jazz keyboardist and producer, alternatively known as Henry Wu, is accused of sexual harassment, coercive behavior, and sexual assault in incidents separate from one another.
Resident Advisor reported that following the initial investigation in May, “at least 18 others have come forward” with allegations against Williams that extend from “inappropriate behavior to sexual assault.” Of those who came forward, only four chose to share their experiences on record, while all four women’s identities were masked for their safety. Several of the alleged incidents reportedly took place recently, in 2023. Despite not knowing each other, most people who made accusations reported similar accounts of sexual assault.
In response to the alleged incidents presented to him, Williams has not yet reacted. However, in May, after the first investigation, a representative for Kamaal Williams instructed Resident Advisor that the “very serious allegations are untrue and emphatically denied by him, and that he will be able to demonstrate the same.” The jazz keyboardist’s upcoming headline shows, which included three sold-out nights at London’s Jazz Cafe, and performances at Leeds’ Belgrave Music Hall, Manchester’s Blues Kitchen, and Bristol’s Central Warehouse, were all canceled because of Resident Advisor’s report.
