Dua Lipa has responded to accusations that she was miming during her headlining set at Glastonbury 2024 on Friday, June 28. Lipa was the first artist to take to the Pyramid Stage at this year’s festival, with Coldplay and SZA headlining on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. During her performance, she surprised fans by bringing out Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker to perform “The Less I Know The Better” together.
Following Lipa’s set, many viewers online claimed that her “too polished” performance was evidence she was lip syncing. Some viewers also reported that her voice was out of sync with the video on their television screens, making it appear that she wasn’t singing live. However, this issue resolved itself once technical difficulties were fixed by switching to FreeView.
Lipa remained at Glastonbury following the performance, and when questioned about the accusations by a MailOnline reporter, she simply stated: “I don’t mime”. The NME gave Lipa’s set a four-star review, praising it as a “visual spectacle” that celebrated pop “in its highest form”.
Technical difficulties affected other artists at Glastonbury 2024, including Shania Twain and SZA, who both experienced issues during their sets. Fans can check back with NME for the latest news, reviews, interviews, photos, rumors, and more about Glastonbury 2024
