Tinashe follows viral hit ‘Nasty’ with new single ‘Getting No Sleep’, confirms release date for album ‘Quantum Baby’

US R&B singer Tinashe has released a new single titled ‘Getting No Sleep’ and announced details of her upcoming album ‘Quantum Baby’. The song, which follows on from her viral hit ‘Nasty’, features playful lyrics that maintain the high level of sensuality found throughout her music. ‘Quantum Baby’, set to be released on August 16, will be the second part of a trilogy that began with last year’s ‘BB/Ang3l’.

The singer had this to say about her latest work: “‘Quantum Baby’ is about getting to know me on a deeper level. It’s about exploring who I am as a person and who I am as an artist. I’ve never been one to be put into a box, so the name ‘Quantum Baby’ encompasses all the different parts that make up who I am as a creative.” Alongside the album announcement, the artist shared the music video for ‘Getting No Sleep’, which comes with a trigger warning for people with photosensitive epilepsy.

Tinashe has previously collaborated with Canadian DJ and producer Kaytranada on his album ‘Timeless’, working alongside a host of other artists including Childish Gambino, Anderson .Paak, PinkPantheress, Thundercat, Channel Tres and others.

Last year, Tinashe was scheduled to co-headline a tour with UK musician Shygirl. However, Shygirl was forced to withdraw due to an on-going respiratory illness and the shows had to be cancelled.
