Wandsworth: Woman arrested over alleged inmate sex video

A female suspect has been taken into custody over a social media post supposedly depicting a prison staff having sexual relations with a prisoner while in his cell. The investigation began after the Metropolitan Police became aware of a video assumed to have been shot inside the Wandsworth prison. The female was apprehended that same day on suspicion of misconduct in public office, and she is being kept detained by the police. The investigation is still in progress, and the police are reportedly in touch with the Ministry Of Justice.

The HM Prison Service had previously revealed that they had informed the authorities about the accusation against the former prison guard. Wandsworth Prison had been at the center of concerns after it was placed on an “urgent notification” of conditions by Charlie Taylor, prisons chief inspector. Mr. Taylor had found several issues in the prison, including overcrowding, infestations, and increasing levels of violence between the prisoners. HM Inspectorate of Prisons has declined to comment on the issue due to the pre-election period.
