Charli XCX was joined by two other music stars during her set at the Glastonbury 2024 festival. Robyn and Romy Madley Croft of The xx both joined Charli on the Levels stage for her set, entitled “Charli XCX Presents Partygirl”. Robyn performed “With Every Heartbeat” with Charli, while Romy remixed Robyn’s “Dancing on My Own”. Footage of the performance was shared on social media, though some fans were disappointed that the set wasn’t available to watch more widely.
Charli has been working with Robyn since last year, after Robyn confirmed the pair had been making music together. Robyn had earlier remixed Charli’s “360” alongside Yung Lean. Meanwhile, fans pointed out that the capacity of the venue where Charli performed was limited to just 7,000 – a reflection of her DJ roots, as opposed to a live act.
Nevertheless, Charli has been performing a range of live shows and DJ sets in promotion of her album “Brat”. The album received a four-star review from NME, which described the record as demonstrating “growing pains, grief and aching doubts” alongside “self-confidence, celebration and the knowledge of the place XCX holds in the musical landscape”.
Charli recently teamed up with Troye Sivan to perform “1999” at Wembley, and has received wide acclaim for her boundary-pushing pop productions
