The future of PS Plus has been somewhat hit-and-miss this year with mixed reviews of their Essential, Extra and Premium tiers. However, this could be set to change as we head into the latter part of 2024 which sees numerous major game releases slated. The August 2024 PS Plus games are set to be unveiled on July 31st for the Essential tier, with the Extra and Premium tiers announced on August 14th. The games will then be available from August 6th and August 20th respectively.
As yet, little is known with regards to the specific games that will be available for PS Plus members in August. However, it has been revealed that the following games will be departing the service: Borderlands 3, NHL 24, and Among Us. More titles are expected to be added to this list following the release of the July PS Plus games for the Extra and Premium tiers which are scheduled for release on July 16th.
Despite the lack of confirmed information, there has been speculation as to what games might be on offer for PS Plus members in August. This speculation over titles has led to three potential options being discussed within the gaming community.
The first of these options is an Outriders Complete Edition, which is a 1-3 player co-op RPG shooter that lets you create your own Outrider and explore Enoch; the mysterious planet housing a precious signal. The Complete Edition is set to include the Worldslayers expansion, a new endgame, and new campaigns which makes it an exciting prospect.
The second potential title is Sonic Frontiers; an open-world game featuring the classic character with five massive overworld islands to explore, bosses to vanquish, and puzzles to solve. This is set to be a highly anticipated game that could make an appearance in August’s PS Plus lineup.
The third potential title being touted is Citizen Sleeper; a narrative-adventure game that puts you in the shoes of a sleeper trying to navigate through a strange and futuristic metropolis. This game requires you to build friendships and navigate factions of the city in order to survive.
