Wilco has announced that they will be opening their new Reverb store by selling some of their used gear and instruments. Fans of the band will be allowed to purchase rarities like a Vox Mark IX ’60s, a 1962 Martin F-55, and a rare six-keyboard organ, the Wurlitzer MKS-470. The store, called “The Official Wilco Loft Reverb Shop,” will launch on 18 July and will also include additional notable items for purchase like a 2011 Breedlove Revival OMR Deluxe acoustic guitar, a 1960s Framus “Big 18” double-neck electric guitar, and a Harmony Buck Owens H169 acoustic guitar.
Dubbed as “rare birds,” the store’s notable items are “not seen in the wild too often,” according to the Loft studio manager, Mark Greenberg. He added: “I’ll be honest, I’m surprised Jeff is selling this one.” Meanwhile, the band’s lead singer Jeff Tweed shared in a statement: “I love having these Wilco Loft sales on Reverb. My guitars are like my children; I love them so much. That said, I am thankful there is a place I can easily and safely sell the children that no longer bring me joy.”
Interested buyers can preview some of the “Wilco Loft Reverb Shop” offerings by visiting their website. Tweedy joined Bleachers as a special guest last month for a cover of Lana Del Rey‘s ‘Margaret’. Earlier this year, he opened up about his relationship with music criticism and revealed “I tried to be a rock critic but I couldn’t do it”.
