Griff launches competition to win her Taylor Swift support dress

British singer Griff has launched a competition offering fans the chance to win the hand-made dress she wore while supporting Taylor Swift at Wembley Stadium on 22 June. The dress was designed by the musician and inspired by Swift’s track “But Daddy I Love Him” – “Now I’m running with my dress unbuttoned/Screaming ‘But Daddy I love him’.” Griff said: “I’ve always been drawn to a big dress shape and deconstructed fashion… I wanted the dress to almost look open, to flow.”

To enter the competition, fans need to pre-order Griff’s upcoming album Vertigo via her webstore. The competition is the latest example of Griff’s passion for making clothes; she previously designed the outfits she and her band wore at the 2021 BRIT Awards, where she won the Rising Star Award. Swift praised Griff’s creative talents, telling her Wembley Stadium audience: “This girl, she is so creative on every single level. She’s in complete control of everything that goes into her writing, her producing, she even makes her own outfits for stage.”

Griff recently announced that she will support Sabrina Carpenter on the US leg of Carpenter’s tour and embark on her own headline tour. She also talked about Vertigo, describing it as “heartbroken but also euphoric”. The album’s title, she said, “comes from the feeling of all the songs combined. Even the happy ones have this sense of confusion and disorientation.”

Griff’s debut album Vertigo will be out on 12 July. Her tour will kick off in Brisbane on 13 August and finish in Madrid on 3 December, taking in dates in Australia, North America, Europe and the UK
