The Glastonbury Festival for the year 2024 has finally begun as the doors have now been opened to the public. Ticketholders have arrived and entered the festival site since 4pm yesterday, and the gates officially opened at 8am this morning. Emily Eavis, the organiser of the festival, was present to welcome the festival-goers as they enter the grounds. An iconic Rocky theme song was played as Eavis walked towards the gate before a countdown was made, followed by Eavis announcing “Welcome to Glastonbury!”
Glastonbury 2024 is set to welcome over 200,000 attendees and will feature a full billing of music, entertainment, and activities up until early Monday morning, July 1st. The festival will include performances from Dua Lipa, Coldplay, SZA and other notable artists. Shania Twain is also set to perform a “legends slot” on the Worthy Farm stage. Additionally, a new stage called Arrivals will be introduced in the Shangri-La area, specifically for South Asian talents, while K-pop will also make its debut presence in the festival this year with a performance from Pledis boyband SEVENTEEN on the Pyramid Stage.
Numerous artists are scheduled to perform this year such as LCD Soundsystem, PJ Harvey, Little Simz, Burna Boy, Idles, Anne-Marie, Confidence Man, Disclosure, Camila Cabello, The National, Jessie Ware, Jungle and more.
