Megadeth “actively” recording new album with David Ellefson’s replacement

Heavy metal band Megadeth has announced that it is working on new music with bassist James LoMenzo, who replaced David Ellefson after allegations of inappropriate behavior with a minor emerged earlier this year. Ellefson denied any wrongdoing, but the band parted ways with him. In a recent interview, LoMenzo revealed that he had wanted to play on the band’s last album, “The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead!,” but Ellefson’s bass parts had already been re-recorded. Megadeth hopes to release new music soon, said LoMenzo, adding that, “We’re talking with Dave [Mustaine] every day. Dave really wants to do another record and just get something fresh out there.”

Megadeth is due to perform at Hellfest 2024 in Clisson, France, alongside other rock and metal acts like Dropkick Murphys, The Offspring, Babymetal, The Interrupters, Simple Plan, Nova Twins, Hot Milk, and Wargasm.
