To honor the 25th anniversary of the iconic film Human Traffic, Glastonbury will feature two separate takeovers celebrating the movie. As part of the Cool Cymru movement, the coming-of-age film was a groundbreaking depiction of 90s rave culture and launched the careers of actors John Simm and Danny Dyer. The first takeover will happen at The Cornish Arms ale pub on Saturday, where Loop Dee Loop and Blended Artists will play a “Human Traffic set” from 1 a.m. to 2 a.m. They are encouraging attendees to wear a “hi-vis” dress code for the event.
The other takeover will occur on Arcadia’s The Bug stage from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. This special event will involve a collaboration with the Save Our Scene campaign, featuring DJ Boring, Simone, Shosh b2b Zero, Dan Shake, and Loop Dee Loop performing their own sets. The collaboration with Save Our Scene aims to “collectively disconnect from reality, dance with friends, unified in a promise to protect the future of our night-time industry, committing to the music, these special moments, and the venues, which are so important to our lives.”
Director Justin Kerrigan’s Human Traffic sequel has been in the works for some time and will be a reaction to Brexit. Though no concrete details have been released, Danny Dyer hinted at a potential sequel in 2016, tweeting that his portrayal of Moff was “one of my favourite characters ever.” Glastonbury is expected to draw over 200,000 festival-goers and will offer a full line-up of music and entertainment
