Royal Blood has performed a cover of Hozier’s ‘Eat Your Young’ for BBC Radio One’s Live Lounge. The band drafted in a backing trio of singers to perform an amplified version of the title track from Hozier’s 2023 EP. Viewers can watch the performance via YouTube.
The Live Lounge is known for its impressive covers, with Royal Blood having previously performed covers of The Knack’s ‘My Sharona’ and The Police’s ‘Roxanne’ in the studio.
The duo recently celebrated the 10th anniversary of their self-titled debut album with a series of gigs at O2 Academy Brixton where they played the album in full. Reflecting on the record to NME, Mike Kerr and Ben Thatcher said: “It really is still an album that we live and breathe every day. I think we’re just stoked that we still get to do this every day. That’s been the biggest take we’ve got from reminiscing about a decade ago.”
In addition to their O2 gigs, the band has also been on tour with Queens Of The Stone Age. During their time on the road, the duo learned how to do Sudoku as the other band members were into puzzles and completing crossword books.
