Suede fans will be happy to know that the band has confirmed their tenth studio album is in the works. Frontman Brett Anderson revealed that the album will be “noisy”, “unhinged”, and “raw” at the Isle of Wight Festival. The album, which has not been named, follows 2022’s “Autofiction”. The band debuted a new song, “Antidepressants” during their set at the festival. Fans say it offers a preview of the new era for the Britpop band.
Anderson gave more insight into the upcoming album, “It’s more unhinged, and, in a way, kind of like straighter and more honest. Lots of the subject matter is quite exposed and raw, and just sort of playing in lots of ways. There’s no poetry on it. It’s just sort of like saying the way I feel about things.”
Suede’s last album was praised by NME in their four-star review. The review said, “All in all, ‘Autofiction’ finds the indie greats getting back in the garage to make a racket. This is a band with a lust for life.”
Suede is set to co-headline a tour with the Manic Street Preachers across the UK and Ireland this summer. They are expected to perform a huge outdoor show at Audley End in Saffron Walden, Essex, alongside Johnny Marr and Nadine Shah at the start of August.
