M.I.A. launches “tin foil hat” merch line to block 5G waves from entering body

British rapper M.I.A. has launched her own clothing brand called Ohmni which sells “Protency boxers” that claim to block electromagnetic frequencies that are said to boost fertility. The brand’s website states that their products are the “last frontier” of preserving one’s privacy, autonomy and rights over their own body and data. Ohmni’s tin foil hat is said to deflect electronic waves such as Wi-Fi & 5G with up to 99.999% shielding effectiveness.

According to Consequence Of Sound, M.I.A. previously announced the clothing line on Alex Jones’s conspiracy theory show, Infowars. She explained to Jones that the clothing line is designed to protect wearers from nanoparticles although at present, there has been no specific explanation on how Ohmni protects its wearers from the particles. The clothing brand’s mission statement claims that even a person’s own house could be considered a digital battlefield in the year 2024.

M.I.A. experienced a wave of backlash in 2022 after comparing Jones’s falsehoods about the Sandy Hook shooting to celebrities “pushing” COVID-19 vaccines and suggesting that the latter, too, should “pay for lying”. She later clarified that she is “not really” an anti-vaxxer. The singer caused more controversy by releasing her mixtape called Bells Collection at the end of 2021, which was her first piece of work since her 2022 studio album called MATA. M.I.A. has always been known for her unorthodox encounters with the public, and the launch of her own clothing line that aims to protect wearers from electromagnetic fields seems to be no exception.

The Ohmni brand offers a range of protective clothing. The tin foil hat apparently deflects electronic waves such as Wi-Fi & 5G with up to 99.999% shielding effectiveness. The announcement came after M.I.A appeared on Alex Jones’ Infowars show to explain how the clothing line is designed to protect wearers from nanoparticles. Although the product seems far-fetched, M.I.A emphasizes the importance of protecting oneself in 2024 as every house could be considered a digital battlefield. However, M.I.A’s controversial past has resulted in her being dropped from GQ’s 2022 Men Of The Year Awards after the magazine severed ties with her over controversial tweets about vaccines
