Crazy Town singer Shifty Shellshock dies aged 49

Seth Binzer, the musician known as Shifty Shellshock from the band Crazy Town, has passed away at the age of 49. The Los Angeles medical examiner announced his death after he was found at his home. There have been no details regarding the cause of his death disclosed. Kerrang! and Newsweek have both reported his death.

Shifty Shellshock became famous in the late 1990s and early 2000s as the frontman of Crazy Town, a rock rap band. Their most famous song, “Butterfly,” was released in 1999 and topped singles charts worldwide, including the Billboard Hot 100. After their second album in 2002 saw poor commercial success, the group disbanded. They reunited in 2007 and continued to make music until 2015’s “The Brimstone Sluggers.”

In 2002, Binzer created a song with British producer Paul Oakenfold called “Starry Eyed Surprise.” Outside of music, Binzer participated in several reality TV series in hopes of raising awareness of his struggles with addiction.

Binzer was survived by his three sons, and more details regarding his death are expected to be released shortly
