Yesterday, Bring Me The Horizon played at Germany’s Hurricane Festival, with Oli Sykes being joined on stage by his dad Ian for their fan favourite track ‘Antivist.’ Introducing his father to the crowd, Oli jokingly told them: “Help him out – he’s a little nervous” before his dad took over the performance. Oli then added: “Make some noise for the coolest dad in the world!” Footage of the performance has been circulating online together with the band’s entire setlist.

Ian Sykes is the latest guest vocalist on ‘Antivist,’ with members of Bad Omens and Sleep Token having previously provided support on the track during Bring Me The Horizon’s tour of the UK and Australia.

In another recent collaboration, Oli Sykes teamed up with Underoath’s Spencer Chamberlain to produce ‘A Bullet w/ My Name On,’ a track from their long-awaited latest album, “Post Human: Next Gen.’ The ‘Can You Feel My Heart’ singer has previously spoken about its divisive lyrics: “If Jesus Christ returns, we’ll just kill the f***er twice,” telling NME the lyric was intended to be “a critique of the conflict in Israel and Palestine.”

Elsewhere, Sykes has opened up about his experience of rehab and recovery, discussing his mental health. “I thought I was insane and didn’t think I was ever going to get better, but then I’m listening to people saying all my thoughts,” he said. “They’ve all been through things that are different and worse, but ‘Strangers’ is about that realization that we’re all just looking for security. We’re all just lost.”

Bring Me The Horizon’s recent release featured thirteen tracks and came after their previous release, “Post Human: Survival Horror.” Their new album is a part of four planned EP’s, following on from September 2020’s release of the previously mentioned EP
