Northern Irish electronic music duo Bicep have shared a fresh track from their CHROMA project called ‘CHROMA 004 ROLA’. The new and stripped-back single showcases a different direction for the pair. It is a visually darker and musically heavier offering compared to their recent productions. The duo played the new single live in front of a 15,000 audience during their 2023 DRUMSHEDS takeover, and premiered it again on June 24 on Apple Music’s New Music Daily Radio show.
Bicep’s CHROMA project consists of in-curated events, a constantly-evolving live A/V show, a record label and a unique visual identity crafted by the artist and graphic designer David Rudnick. The project is a chance for the duo to write music for the dancefloor with a specific idea in mind. They can also focus on music for their DJ gigs outside a traditional album cycle.
The CHROMA project lets the Bicep pair write music for DJing and allows them to share and play the songs out the same week. They share that it has been fun for them to let people hear a bit of a tougher sound from them. ‘CHROMA 004 ROLA’ lands ahead of Bicep’s headline show at Glastonbury’s IICON stage on June 27, where they are slated to perform a live A/V DJ set.
