Swedish singer Tove Lo has responded positively to a request from rapper Megan Thee Stallion to collaborate on new music. During a show in Phoenix, Arizona, Megan picked up a sign from the crowd and publicly requested a collaboration with Tove Lo. “Tove Lo, I don’t know if you’re seeing this, but we gotta do a song, because they’re not f****** around,” Megan said. “Somebody record this for my girl and tell her we need a song.” Tove Lo replied on Twitter by saying that she is ready and asking for the time and place for the collaboration.
Megan is set to release her third studio album, Megan, this week through her independent label, Hot Girl Productions. The album will feature collaborations with musicians such as Victoria Monet and GloRilla. Megan is also playing a series of UK and European shows next month including Glasgow, Manchester, Paris, Amsterdam, and London’s The O2.
Megan recently replaced Tyler, The Creator as a headliner at Lollapalooza 2019 after he withdrew for personal reasons. Megan will perform on Thursday, 1 August.
Tove Lo’s latest project is a four-track dance EP, which she made with SG Lewis. The project highlights the queer community and the inspiration behind the project is “someone discovering their full self for the first time in a club space – in Club Heat.”
