Tomorrowland is taking a unique approach to spotlighting young DJ talent by offering those under 18 the opportunity to perform at the festival. To further the expansion of younger DJs, Tomorrowland has promoted their online educational portal titled Tomorrowland Academy. The program aims to “inspire young talents” by focusing on DJ training and enhancement of skills. This call for action included the announcement and age range of all acts booked for Tomorrowland 2024, some of which who range from nine to 17 years old.
The inclusion of younger artists in the festival lineup appears to be the objective of Tomorrowland Academy and has already shown growth in the upcoming event’s featured talent. Nine-year-old DJ Archie and 14-year-old DJ Daan have both been booked and have prior festival experience, further proving Tomorrowland’s commitment to presenting fresh talent. The Boom, Antwerp based festival will take place over two weekends from July 19 to 28, where attendees can expect to experience the best in EDM culture.
In addition to their commitment to presenting young talent, Tomorrowland is hosting a “kids bootcamp” known as DJ-Kids Camp for those aged eight to 16 years old. The week-long workshops provide an opportunity for participants to enhance their DJ skills and ultimately perform in front of the public at Tomorrowland Neighboursday on July 24. The Tomorrowland festival has become a significant characteristic of the EDM culture as it consistently presents a packed line-up of veteran and newcomer artists, colorful stages, and a devoted following of attendees. This year’s edition has already sold out with waiting list spots filled.
Tomorrowland celebrations mark its 20th anniversary since first launching in 2005. Artist Armin van Buuren, Four Tet, Afrojack, Bonobo, Jayda G, and The Blessed Madonna will feature in this event’s line-up, among others.
