UK artist TSHA has announced the release of her second album, titled “Sad Girl”, set to drop on September 27 through Ninja Tune. The announcement was made alongside the launch of the album’s second track, “Girls”, featuring Rose Gray, which serves as a “proper club anthem” for “the girls and the gays”. The song is described as an earworm hook buoyed up by electro production, with Rose Gray repeating the mantra “It’s my body it’s my mind”. According to TSHA, the forthcoming project will address a range of emotions and feature a new direction for the DJ and producer, as she applies her “vocal stamp” on tracks and explores new genres.
The album will be TSHA’s follow-up to her 2020 debut album “Capricorn Sun”, where she channeled UK garage, early rave and house influences. Following the release of her debut, TSHA was nominated for a MOBO and a Grammy, and collaborated with artists like Diplo, Ellie Goulding and Gregory Porter.
In addition, the artist has also premiered a pre-save for “Sad Girl”, which will consist of 12 tracks, including “In the Night”, “Green”, and “Azaleas”.
As she continues to push boundaries in her music, TSHA was recently tapped to mix a set for “fabric presents”, a monthly mix series that started in 2019. In her latest project, she will address difficult feelings and approach new genres without seeking approval or fearing experimentation
