Thurston Moore announces new album ‘Flow Critical Lucidity’

Thurston Moore, the founding member of Sonic Youth, has announced the upcoming release of his ninth solo album titled ‘Flow Critical Lucidity’. The album is set to launch on September 20 through Daydream Library Series. Pre-orders and pre-save options for the album are now available for purchase.

‘Flow Critical Lucidity’ features the recently release track, ‘San Limites’ that comes with recurring guitar and piano, gradually expanding with every revolution. The song showcases Laetitia Sadier, Stereolab’s vocalist. In a statement shared with CLASH, Moore revealed the significance of the song, stating that the song discusses the eradication of limitations towards enlightenment, making sense because listeners are getting a soldier’s perspective on the idea of fighting the good fight against war instead of pacifism.

The upcoming album tracklist features songs such as ‘New in Town’, ‘Hypnogram’, and ‘Rewilding’ among others. The limited clear flexi-disc version of the album will include ‘Isadora’, serving as a bonus track. ‘Flow Critical Lucidity’ is Moore’s first album release since he unveiled his Sonic Life memoir. Due to a known health condition, he had to cancel his tour dates, but revealed last year that he had been dealing with atrial fibrillation for some time, but is now doing better
