In a recent interview with the podcast Your Mama’s Kitchen, EGOT winner Jennifer Hudson spoke about her family, revealing that she has at least 26 siblings and has yet to meet some of them. As a teenager, Hudson became aware that her father had many children – a total of 27, to be exact. Despite the size of her family, Hudson shared her dream of having all of her siblings together at a grand holiday table.
Hudson’s unique family dynamic is not new information, as she previously spoke about it in a 2019 interview with The Guardian. In that interview, she disclosed that her family consists of 11 boys and 16 girls, and that she and her sister went looking for their father when she turned 15. After finding him, he moved in with the family and remained with them until his death.
Although Hudson has met “quite a few” of her siblings, there are still some that she has not yet had the opportunity to meet. As someone who loves family, she has always looked forward to the chance to gather her siblings around a giant table – a goal she set for herself at age 16.
Hudson’s success in the entertainment industry has not stopped her from valuing the importance of family. As she continues to navigate her career, she remains grounded in her roots and the people who have supported her along the way
