After being asked to comment on Justin Timberlake’s DWI arrest while he was lunching in Main Street in the Hamptons, Billy Joel has responded awkwardly saying: “Judge not lest ye be judged.” Joel added that he did not have any comments on the matter since he did not know Timberlake very well.
Timberlake was charged recently for driving while intoxicated in the same area where Joel was having his lunch. According to a complaint obtained by the New York Post, Timberlake claimed to have had just one martini before following his friends home in his car. He also allegedly refused a breathalyser multiple times.
The former NSYNC star is reportedly due in court on July 26, 2024. TMZ reports that his friends were near the arrest and pleaded with police to let Timberlake go, but to no avail. Meanwhile, according to Page Six, the cop who arrested Timberlake also reportedly didn’t recognize him and the star fearing it would ruin his tour, said: “the world tour” when asked by the cop what tour he was referring to.
Timberlake hasn’t lost his vocal chops or ability to work a groove but his past misdemeanors resurface in his new album “Everything I Thought It Was” that was released earlier this year. NME’s three-star review said, “For now, Timberlake’s problematic fave era will have to wait.” The singer, who is set to perform at Chicago’s United Center on June 21 and 22 followed by two shows at New York’s Madison Square Garden next week, has last-minute tickets available for purchase at Ticketmaster
