Stray Kids tease new mini-album, ‘ATE’, out in July

K-pop group Stray Kids has officially announced their upcoming comeback with a new mini-album titled “ATE” set to release next month. The announcement came from JYP Entertainment on June 19 with the album dropping at 1pm KST on July 19, or midnight EST. A short trailer for the album was also released, featuring the eight-member group parodying a commercial for a fortune cookie named after the album, said to bring good fortune.

The concept of the fortune cookie was further teased by the group in additional 18-second trailers featuring duos from within the group. Bang Chan and Hyunjin, Lee Know and Felix, I.N and Changbin, as well as Han and Seungmin were all spotlighted in the teasers. The album’s lead single, track list, and additional details are yet to be announced by the group.

According to South Korean outlet OSEN the mini-album will “contain Stray Kids’ unique cheerful energy and bold ambition to dominate the domestic and international music market this summer.” The title of “ATE” is also a double entendre that ties back to the number of members in Stray Kids.

“ATE” marks Stray Kids’ first record since the mini-album “Rock-Star” was released in November 2023. Last month, they released their first English single “Lose My Breath” featuring American singer-songwriter Charlie Puth. This album is highly anticipated by fans and is expected to be a success in both the domestic and international music markets
