American rapper Post Malone has announced the release date and title for his sixth studio album. He shared an image of a billboard in Nashville on social media, which revealed the record’s name as ‘F-1 Trillion’ and a release date of 16 August. Fans can pre-save the album now. Although the track listing remains under wraps, it is believed that the album will lean towards country music. The artist has been releasing country collaborations and singles over the past months.
In April, Post Malone performed ‘I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry’ by Hank Williams at a surprise concert in Nashville, and later that month, he played a set of classic country covers at the Stagecoach Festival. During the festival, he and Brad Paisley performed ‘I’m Gonna Miss Her’ together. Post Malone debuted his first single since 2023’s ‘Austin’, entitled ‘I Had Some Help’ with Morgan Wallen in May. At the Country Music Awards, he revealed a new song called ‘Never Love You Again’. On 21 June, the artist will release ‘Pour Me a Drink’, a duet with Blake Shelton.
Post Malone has expressed an interest in country music before. In 2022, he told Howard Stern that nothing was holding him back from making a country album and putting it on YouTube. The artist has performed two country song covers previously, ‘You Shouldn’t Come Back’ by Stargill Simpson and ‘I’m Gonna Miss Her’ by Brad Paisley, at a Texas relief fundraiser livestream. Post Malone’s last album, ‘Austin’, received a four-star review from NME in 2020. The publication noted that Malone’s switch to pop better suited the artist.
It remains to be seen how Post Malone’s country-leaning album will be received. However, the artist continues to expand his repertoire by incorporating new genres into his work. Fans can look forward to ‘F-1 Trillion’ this August
