British DJ Franky Wah has had his music collection stolen in Ibiza and is offering a reward for information leading to its recovery. His laptop and his entire music collection, including unreleased tracks, were taken from his car whilst he was eating at a restaurant in northern Ibiza. “Everything’s been taken,” he said in a now-deleted video on Instagram. “There’s a reward for anyone that can give me any information about who it might be and where that might be.” Wah is urging anyone who knows where his belongings are to contact him via his Instagram page.
Despite having much of his music backed up, Wah explained that there are still many projects and ideas which are not. The theft has caused hours, weeks, months, and years of work to be lost. “I’ll have to work relentlessly now to recover in time for my shows this weekend,” he stated. Although he has a good idea where his belongings might be, nothing has been returned so far.
This comes as Wah is currently in Ibiza for a three-week residency at Ibiza’s Club Chinois, his second residency so far. He will be joined by a host of other artists such as Ida Engberg, Guy J, and Patrice Bäumel. Nevertheless, Wah still managed to release a new track titled ‘Stolen Glances’ earlier this week, featuring British pop singer Låpsley. In a post about the track, Wah thanked his followers for their support since the announcement of the alleged theft. “The outpouring of messages and willingness to help has been overwhelming and really just shows how much of a great community we’ve got,” he wrote online. Wah will be performing at Secret Garden Party later this summer as part of a new initiative to promote emerging talent, having dropped the inclusion of big name headliners
