Aphex Twin is celebrating the 30th anniversary of his ‘Selected Ambient Works Volume II’ with a reissue of the album. This edition features every track, including the once vinyl-only track ‘#19’, which is now available in all formats. In addition to the original tracks, the new release includes two additional tracks: ‘th1 [evnslower]’ and ‘Rhubarb Orc. 19.53 Rev’.
‘Selected Ambient Works Volume II’ is one of Aphex Twin’s most recognizable and influential projects. The original album was released in 1994 by Richard D. This expanded edition will be available via Warp on October 4 as a four-LP box set, four-LP standard pressing, three-disc CD, two-pack cassette and digitally.
Last year, Aphex Twin returned to live performances after a hiatus of about four years to perform at London’s Field Day festival. It was in 2023 when Aphex released his first solo EP in five years, ‘Blackbox Life Recorder 21f / In a Room7 F760’. One of the songs, ‘Blackbox Life Recorder 21f’, was originally uploaded to his Soundcloud account but was deleted before its official release. The opening track from the album can also be heard on the same Soundcloud account.
