Actor Tom Hardy has spoken out about the new Mad Max prequel, admitting that he has not yet seen it. Hardy starred in the 2015 movie Mad Max: Fury Road, describing his experience on the film as “great”. The actor spoke to Variety about working with the film’s creator George Miller, calling him a “genius” and praising the crew.
The new prequel, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, was released in May and stars Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth. Set 20 years before the events of Fury Road, it has received critical acclaim, with NME describing it as “brilliant and unmissable”. Hardy, who stars in Jeff Nichols’ new movie The Bikeriders alongside Austin Butler and Jodie Comer, said he was sure it would be a “tremendous success”, adding that he was a “huge Mad Max fan”.
Hardy has been praised for his work by his co-stars in The Bikeriders. Austin Butler recently revealed that working with Hardy was “a masterclass in acting” and that the British actor was “generous” with his time and knowledge. The film follows the story of two friends who travel across America on their motorbikes in the 1960s.
