Police have confirmed that three children who went missing after a day out at Thorpe Park in Chertsey have been found safe in London. The children, aged seven, nine, and 14, were reported missing on Monday evening and are all known to each other. They had travelled to Surrey from Milton Keynes to visit the theme park.
Detective Superintendent Trevor Struthers said that the police officers and staff had worked tirelessly to locate the children and that everyone was relieved that they had been found safe. The police also thanked the public and the media for providing information and assistance with the search.
He also added, “We appreciate the concern this incident caused, especially given the children’s ages and the fact that they were missing overnight.” The officers received a significant amount of information that proved useful in helping to locate the missing children.
The group had been on a planned day out when they went missing and police immediately began their search following the report of their disappearance. The officers and staff covering the case were pleased with their efforts when the children were eventually found safe and well.
People were encouraged to share any relevant information that could help in the search and the police thanked all that had done so. The case emphasises the importance of police work and security measures in public places in ensuring the safety of children as well as people of all ages
