After endorsing Joe Biden for the 2024 presidential election, Jack Black has found himself receiving abuse from Donald Trump supporters. The actor shared his support while speaking on stage at a Hollywood fundraiser over the weekend, after being asked by hosts Julia Roberts and George Clooney to take part.

During the event, Black explained that he was initially hesitant to attend due to his busy schedule, but he was happy to help out the president. He joked about his other event offers, including “MC at the Fliegelman bat mitzvah, the opening of the new Jack in the Box in Oxnard, judge at the second annual Imperial Valley Avocado Festival,” before declaring his commitment to the cause: “When democracy is at stake, Jack Black answers the call! Mr. President, you’re welcome.”

In response to Black endorsing Biden, some Trump supporters have turned on him. One wrote: “Loved him – but no more. I’ll never watch anything he’s ever made as long as I live. He’s a low IQ idiot to me now. Total loser sheep moron.” In contrast, others have supported Black, with Star Wars actor Mark Hamill reacting to the news with a simple “like” on Twitter.

As the US presidential election approaches, the Biden campaign has been seeking endorsements from high profile figures, including artists and actors. Earlier this year, it was reported that they were seeking Taylor Swift’s endorsement, as she previously helped gather record-breaking numbers of voter registrations in 2020. Meanwhile, Republican rival Donald Trump has recently been found guilty in his hush-money case on all 34 counts, but he still plans to run for the presidency in November.
