Jonathan Groff won the Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical award at the Tony Awards, honouring the best of the New York theatre. Groff received warm congratulations on stage from his friend and fellow actor, Daniel Radcliffe, who won the Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical award for his role in the Stephen Sondheim musical ‘Merrily We Roll Along.’ As Groff was emotionally embracing Radcliffe on-stage, he thanked his co-star and also fellow actor Lindsay Mendez, and called them soulmates who would change together for the rest of their lives.
Radcliffe praised his acting partners, Jonathan and Lindsay, saying he would miss them very much. He went on to say that he did not have to act in the show, he just had to observe, and let their emotions take over. Radcliffe also paid tribute to his partner Erin Darke and their son during his acceptance speech.
Radcliffe’s fame dates back to his stare as Harry Potter in the Harry Potter franchise.
