A 16-year-old boy lost his life over the weekend after being struck by a falling tree in Nottinghamshire. The tragic incident occurred on Saturday in Carlton-in-Lindrick, and three individuals have since been arrested in connection with the death of the teenager. Two of those detained are being held on suspicion of manslaughter, while a 28-year-old woman is being questioned on suspicion of helping an offender evade capture.

According to reports, Nottinghamshire Police and East Midlands Ambulance Service were called to the scene at Rotherham Baulk in Carlton-in-Lindrick shortly after 11:20 BST. Despite their best efforts, there was nothing they could do to save the young victim, who was pronounced deceased upon arrival.

Detective Inspector Simon Harrison has called the incident ‘a tragic’ one and has extended his condolences to the victim’s family. The family is currently receiving support from specialist officers in a bid to aid their grief and understand the full scale of the situation.
