Neptune Discs, a music label based in Edinburgh, has finally announced the release of its debut vinyl-only offering, Neptune Discs Vol.9. The pre-order for this musical collection is available now. It’s slated for release on June 28. Four talented artists from different genres were the highlight of this album. They combined their styles to produce otherworldly sounds, hinting at ’90s inspired sounds and trance-like elements, with the essence of today’s dance floors.
Cybernet 303’s “Emerald Canopy” is the opening track, which describes itself as a progressive chugger with a melodic journey that mainly focuses on an open-air setting’s twilight hours. It’s built on melodies and vocal chops that can put hands in the air and make feet shuffle on the ground, guaranteeing smiles on faces.
On the second spot, Aiden Francis comes up with “Fanks” to show his diversity. This track meanders between tech-house, prog, and trance, playing around with swirling elements. Glen S takes charge of “Uh!” on side B2, with a peak-time hitter that goes at heavy basslines and leads, featuring a special drop that ramps up the volume to 100 dB. The track’s energy wants to pound you into the ground, in the artist’s own words.
Tourman closes the delightful album with “Donald Ilg,” breathing new life into the ’90s vibe and energy. “Fast and energetic” are the best words to describe this dynamic track, with resonating synths, atmospheric pads, and 90s-inspired chord stabs playing throughout the song.
Astro, the head of the Neptune Discs label, says that this is one of the label’s dreams come true. They have always aimed to bring visuals to life through vinyl records. Vinyl’s nostalgia is the perfect complement for the 90s-early 2000s sound of their releases. Partnering with the One Eye Witness for distribution has also been a “fantastic” experience. Prior to releasing three to four vinyl records this year, Neptune Discs Vol.9 features three past artists and one newcomer, beautifully capturing their development.
The much-awaited Neptune Discs Vol.9 will hit stores on June 28. Cybernet is the only track available digitally, so check it out before pre-ordering this vinyl masterpiece
