The Foo Fighters have commenced their 2024 United Kingdom tour. The band created the classic track ‘Everlong,’ and in an interview with NME, frontman Dave Grohl indicated that he “remembered coming up with the riff” while recording “Monkey Wrench.” He created the song in a drop D tuning, and between takes, he discovered that chord. “Then I was really into it, and I formed it into a song. We were on a Christmas break [when it came together]… I demoed it all by myself,” Grohl added, saying “it was super raw.”

During their summer UK stint, Grohl and co. took over the Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester, and the most surprising song of the night was ‘Unconditional,’ which was previously unheard. According to a representative of the band, the tune was “partially written and demo’d during home studio sessions years ago – but ultimately left unfinished.” During rehearsals for the UK tour, the band discovered ‘Unconditional,’ and decided to share it with everyone in the same way – live.

To commence their set, the band performed ‘Monkey Wrench,’ ‘Learn To Fly,’ and ‘No Son Of Mine.’ The band performed numerous other hits throughout the night, including ‘The Pretender,’ ‘Walk,’ ‘My Hero,’ ‘The Sky Is A Neighbourhood,’ and ‘Best Of You.’ Elsewhere during the show, Grohl performed the song ‘Under You’ solo for the first time, and the band performed the duo ‘The Teacher’ and ‘Everlong’ to close out the set. The group is scheduled to perform six more shows in the United Kingdom throughout June, with the final performance taking place in Birmingham on June 27.

Last June, the Foo Fighters released their 11th and most recent studio album, ‘But Here We Are.’ Before playing a surprise hits-filled set at Glastonbury, the band released the album. Drummer Josh Freese, who replaced the late Taylor Hawkins, has discussed the unexpected moment when frontman Dave Grohl asked him to join the band. “Part of me wants to say, ‘I wish I wasn’t there at all.’ I wish there wasn’t a reason for me to be the drummer in the Foo Fighters,” the musician said
