Peaky Blinders actor Paul Anderson has opened up about his struggles with mental health following concerns from fans earlier this year about his appearance. In an Instagram video, Anderson encouraged his followers to “search inside” and overcome their own struggles with the help of others. He advised helping others as a means of helping oneself and stressed the importance of service. Anderson was fined £1,345 in January for possession of drugs including crack cocaine.
Anderson, who played Arthur Shelby on the BBC drama, has previously reassured fans of his well-being after an image showed him with a changed appearance. He pleaded guilty to four charges of drug possession in court. It’s currently unclear if Anderson will feature in the upcoming Peaky Blinders film, although co-star Cillian Murphy has confirmed he will appear and Tom Hardy has said he’s hopeful of being involved.
While Anderson’s recent message emphasised the importance of reaching out for help, he also noted that helping others is a powerful means of self-improvement. As well as reminding his followers that they needn’t struggle alone, Anderson encouraged them to turn to others suffering in order to help them through their struggles
