Hold A Corner, a London-based platform that promotes up-and-coming UK house talent, has announced the launch of its record label with a release from Bristol-based artist Wilfy D. Despite having already caught attention with his R&B-influenced blend of garage and house, Wilfy D has added a new twist to his work, incorporating influences from styles such as funky and amapiano into his latest track, ‘IDKW’. Speaking about it, Wilfy D said his goal was for people to feel uplifted when they listen to it, complete with a human connection and sense of escapism wherever they are, whether that be in a club or gym, or simply at home.
Hold A Corner is set to make its first appearance at Glastonbury’s Greenpeace Field at the end of June, following a takeover of Fabric’s Room 3 in May. Its aim is to work with the new generation of UK house talent and to give them the recognition they deserve.
The statement via Mixmag reads:
“It marks the inaugural release on the label arm of HOLD A CORNER, a London-based platform aiming to spotlight the next generation of UK house talent which launched in March.
A takeover over fabric’s Room 3 in May followed, with an appearance at Glastonbury’s Greenpeace Field scheduled later this month.”
