Glastonbury 2024: Here’s the latest weather forecast

Glastonbury Festival 2024 is almost here, and with a lineup that includes headliners Dua Lipa, Coldplay, and SZA, fans are eagerly anticipating the start of the legendary annual event that takes place in Worthy Farm from June 26-30. Other confirmed acts this year include Shania Twain, LCD Soundsystem, Little Simz, The National, Avril Lavigne, The Last Dinner Party, Jungle, Justice, Bloc Party, Fontaines D.C., Yard Act, Arlo Parks, and Gossip.

With the festival just around the corner, attendees are also wondering about the weather forecast for the area. The BBC Weather website currently has forecasts for Wednesday, June 26, and Thursday, June 27, which predict light rain showers and a gentle breeze with temperatures peaking at 19°C and lows of 11°C and 14°C, respectively. The Met Office’s first long-range forecast for this period states that “initially fine conditions will prevail for most” in the UK, with temperatures likely to be close to or slightly above average.

The second Met Office forecast covers Friday, June 28, Saturday, June 29, and Sunday, June 30 of this year’s festival. It states that it is “harder to offer local detail to as high a level of accuracy” compared to its shorter-range forecasts and that forecasts for five days and beyond are written about the UK as a whole. However, it mentions that all areas can expect some spells of drier, sunnier weather, but there will also be showers or longer spells of rain at times, and temperatures are most likely to be close to or slightly above climatological average.

BBC Weather’s outlook for June 24 to July 7 indicates “summery interludes” throughout the UK. It notes that in the last week of June, high pressure is expected to build up near or over parts of the UK for a prolonged period, which increases the likelihood of warmer, calmer, and drier conditions for a while. But, it also highlights the potential risk that areas of low pressure from Iceland could also cover large parts, or at least the northern half, of the UK with changeable conditions.

Regardless of the weather, festivalgoers are excited to attend Glastonbury 2024, where they’ll get the chance to experience a diverse lineup of talented artists and immerse themselves in the festival’s vibrant atmosphere
