Normani has discussed the rumours surrounding a potential Fifth Harmony reunion, which have been circulating since the group went on an indefinite hiatus in 2018. Speaking to Billboard, she did not confirm a reunion, but hinted that it is possible in the future. Normani was also asked about former member Ally Brooke’s comments that the group were “working on something” last October, to which she replied, “not to my knowledge”. Earlier this month, Normani spoke about the group more generally, revealing that she had “suppressed” some memories of her time in Fifth Harmony: “That’s just my way of protecting myself from having to deal with everything. But what I do remember is that it wasn’t all bad”.
Normani has recently announced her debut solo album, ‘Dopamine’, which is due for release on June 14. She has described the album as a “representation of everything I’ve gone through to get to this moment”, and that it feels like “liberation, like a season of freedom”. Its release has been highly anticipated since she confirmed new music was on the way earlier this year. Fans can pre-save the album via RCA Records’ website.
Fifth Harmony started out as a five-piece girl group, which included Camila Cabello before her exit in 2016. The group released two successful albums ‘Reflection’ and ‘7/27’, and became known for hits such as ‘Down’, ‘Work From Home’, and ‘Worth It’. Since they went on hiatus, all four remaining members – Normani, Ally Brooke, Dinah Jane, and Lauren Jauregui – have gone on to start solo careers. Normani has released tracks such as ‘Love Lies’ with Khalid and ‘Motivation’, which have both been successful in the charts, while Ally Brooke released her debut solo album ‘All Night’ in 2020
