Taylor Swift will not be appearing in the upcoming superhero film Deadpool & Wolverine, according to an exclusive report by Entertainment Weekly. While rumors had been circulating that the singer might play comic book character Dazzler, director Shawn Levy confirmed that Swift would not be involved in the film. Fans speculated about Swift’s possible involvement after she was seen at a Kansas City Chief’s game with stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, along with Levy, last October.

Despite their close friendship, Reynolds has been avoiding rumors about Swift’s involvement in the film. At a recent press event with Jackman and Levy, Reynolds said, “Movies like this, there’s so much speculation about so many people that might end up in the film.” He added, “I saw one that was convinced Elvis was in the movie. Anything can happen and that’s sort of what I love about this universe. Surprises are the essence of Deadpool.”

Swift, who recently kicked off her Eras Tour in the UK, will be playing at Anfield Stadium in Liverpool next, followed by a slot at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff and three sold-out shows at Wembley in London. While Swift won’t be appearing in Deadpool & Wolverine, her friendships with Reynolds and Levy are as strong as ever.

IMAX had posted a picture showing Deadpool and Wolverine holding hands and wearing friendship bracelets, which are symbols of Swift fandom specifically associated with her tour. However, this turned out to be nothing more than a misunderstanding, and Swift will not be appearing in the film after all. Levy, who had expressed regret at not shutting down the rumors sooner, confirmed that the singer would not be involved
