British pop star Charli XCX has released a surprise extended version of her latest album, brat, which features three additional songs. The deluxe version of the album was released on 10 June, just days after the original 13-track LP debuted on 7 June to critical acclaim. Fans had noted that a new collection of songs might be in the works, and the rumours were confirmed in a TikTok live stream that saw a billboard slowly painted to reveal the title of the extended record.

The newly-released deluxe edition includes bonus tracks “Hello Goodbye”, “Guess”, and “Spring Breakers”. Collaborators on the original album include top-tier producers A.G. Cook, Gesaffelstein, and Hudson Mohawke. brat has already become one of the highest-rated albums of the year to date on review aggregator site Metacritic.

Charli XCX is currently one of the UK’s most successful pop exports, known for high-energy, club-friendly tracks such as “Boom Clap” and “I Love It” (performed in collaboration with Icona Pop). She has continued to evolve her sound since her breakthrough in 2014, shifting recently towards more experimental, genre-blurring pop soundscapes.
