Taylor Swift kicked off the UK leg of her ‘Eras’ tour in Edinburgh on June 7th. Fans had been queuing for days ahead of the opening show at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium. Although the show followed a similar pattern to previous ‘Eras’ shows, Swift included a selection of newly added songs from her latest album, ‘The Tortured Poets Department’.

During the show, the singer suggested that Scotland had unconsciously inspired her two lockdown albums, ‘folklore’ and ‘evermore’. “This foresty, mossy, beautiful, natural world which I now realise is probably just based on videos I’ve seen online of Scotland,” she said. Swift also mentioned that this was the most highly-attended stadium show in Scottish history.

Swift played a 45-song setlist, including a surprise song segment, which featured ‘Would’ve Could’ve Should’ve’ from ‘Midnights’, played on guitar and incorporated elements of ‘I Know Places’ from ‘1989’. She then took to the piano for a mash-up of ’tis the damn season’ and ‘Daylight’ from ‘Evermore’ and ‘Lover’ respectively.
