Glastonbury, the famous UK music festival, has announced a new area called Terminal 1. The festival has described it as a “re-purposed airport” that aims to celebrate migration. Terminal 1 will be located on the Williams Green field, which was the home of the Williams Green stage, and it will feature contributions from various artists, including Love Watts, La Linterna, and Yoshi Sodeoka. The festival has also said that citizens of the UK will have to answer a question from the UKGOV citizenship test to gain entry, a test that has faced criticism for being arbitrary and misleading.

Glastonbury has released the full line-up for the event, which will be held at Worthy Farm from June 26 to June 30. The headliners include Dua Lipa, Coldplay, and SZA, with performances from Shania Twain, LCD Soundsystem, Little Simz, The National, and Avril Lavigne among others. The festival has also introduced a new stage called Arrivals in the Shangri-La area, which will be dedicated to South Asian talent.

The festival also released an updated map revealing some key changes, including the introduction of the Wow stage, formerly Assembly, and a seemingly larger Tree Stage. Furthermore, Arcadia’s spider will be replaced by a “giant biomechanical” dragonfly, and The Park will introduce two new venues this year in the form of The Wishing Well and Scissors, which will replace the Rabbit Hole after 17 years.

Despite the line-up already being announced, there are still a few tantalising ‘TBA’ slots on the schedule, which could indicate secret sets. William Hill suspended betting on Kasabian filling a slot at the Woodsies Stage on Saturday at 6 p.m., while there are also unfilled slots on the Glasto schedule, including Levels at midnight on Saturday and three slots in Nowhere, as well as two vacant slots on the BBC Introducing at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday and 7:30 p.m. on Sunday.

For those who cannot make the festival, the BBC has announced plans for extensive television, radio and online coverage of the event. Meanwhile, the Met Office has released its latest long-range forecast, stating that “signals are weak regarding prevailing weather patterns during this period” in the UK
