Billie Eilish has created and shared a new self-directed video for ‘Chihiro’. The music video stars Eilish and actor/musician Nat Wolff. In addition to that, Eilish released some behind the scenes photos and clips on social media, and called it “one of my favorite videos I’ve made”.The press release for the video stated that Eilish “envisioned a dreamlike narrative in which the long, dark hallways and shutting of doors symbolize the different corners of the mind.”. It also says that, “She tumbles into an inescapable connection. The external expression of an internal push and pull, as our deepest feelings of fear, love, or desire inevitably catch up to us, no matter how hard we try to run away.”
This comes almost a month after the singer shared another self-directed video, for her song, ‘Lunch’.Eilish’s latest album, ‘Hit Me Hard And Soft’, earned a four-star review from NME. The review acclaimed Eilish by stating that, “‘Hit Me Hard and Soft’ remains distinctly unique, a portrait of a singular talent entering young adulthood.” Eilish beautifully explores the themes of queerness, emotions, and love throughout the album.”Hit Me Hard and Soft’ was praised and described as a portrait of Eilish’s talent that will resonate harder than anything she’s done before.
In lieu of the pandemic, Eilish has not been able to tour in support of her latest album, however, she has continued to release music videos, and has announced upcoming festivals such as the Governors Ball in New York in September.
