Tom Cruise has been buying Dakota Fanning a new pair of shoes every year for her birthday since the pair worked together on the 2005 film War of the Worlds. Fanning, who was 11 years old when she played Ray Ferrier’s daughter, Rachel, in the film, says that Cruise sends her the shoes every February 23rd. Speaking on Kelly Clarkson’s talk show, Fanning explained that Cruise has been sending her shoes as a birthday present every year since she was able to fit into small adult shoes while on the press tour for War of the Worlds.
Although nearly 20 years have passed since they worked together on the film, it seems that Cruise and Fanning have remained in contact. Fanning revealed that Cruise always sends her the same thing every year: shoes. Fanning loved shoes when she was little and was excited to be able to fit into small adult shoes while on the press tour for War of the Worlds. “So from that birthday on, he always sends me shoes,” Fanning said.
Earlier this week, Cruise was caught trying to get into Rishi Sunak’s car in central London after waving to some of his fans at Battersea Heliport. When the door didn’t open, Cruise walked around to his own car, which was parked in the next space. The Prime Minister was later seen getting into the same car.
